Not so long ago, Vaginal Birth After Cesarean was recommended by most physicians and supported without question by most hospitals. Today, most hospitals have VBAC bans and many without formal bans engage in "bait & switch" and coercive tactics to ensure most or all VBAC pregnancies end in a repeat cesarean. What happened?
In this class we will cover:
The history of vaginal birth after cesarean in the United States
VBAC evidence, risks, benefits, & myths
Local VBAC policies & options
Finding truly supportive care
Building a birth team
Building a VBAC tool box including birth story processing, community support, hypnosis for birth, communicating your desires during the birth, creating a birth plan, & more.
Your Instructors: Maia Carpenetti is VBAC mom & former International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) coordinator. Cori Gentry is certified childbirth educator & former ICAN coordinator. Together they have worked with dozens of VBAC families helping them navigate the maternity care system in Monterey County.
Class tuition is $50 per couple and includes all class materials & concierge maternity support and coaching for 4 weeks after the class as you develop your birth team and plan.
